First R&D opportunity (Taken with instagram)
I went to Oakland to visit Kraft Foods. I was able to take a tour of the research and development laboratories in their many hallways. After the tour, I found myself having flashbacks of when I used to work at Creative Research Management and teared up. I have come to realize, I miss research and finding out answers and figuring out why things tastes or looks or is shaped in a certain way. I miss it. All of it. I miss wearing my lab coat and I miss data. I miss challenging my own knowledge about a particular product. I miss the adrenaline rush of knowing how close I am to the answer! And I miss the challenge of trying to cater to customers without losing them. I miss science. I miss talking about science. I miss the people who surrounded me and everything and the only things we would talk about would be science and what we are learning and what we want to achieve and what our goals are. I miss being in love with science.
But it is fine. I have found another love and it is the history of the United States, especially African American history or the more appropriate term, Black History. And now, I hope to blossom this new love into something as beautiful as my love with science. I can’t wait to talk to Ben about political history.
